It is necessary to consult a cardiologist in the case of pains in the chest, especially if:

• They occur in the retrosternal and left chest area, around the heart
• They radiate to the neck, lower jaw, left arm, or upper limbs
• They occur after physical exertion or during emotional stress
• There are shortness of breath and sudden choking attacks at night
• There is an irregular heartbeat
• There is an accelerated or very slow heartbeat
• There are episodes of loss of consciousness
• Blood pressure increases above 140/90
• Blood pressure decreases below 90/60
• The color of the lips is bluish
• The lower limbs are swollen
• There are hereditary factors, i.e. cardiovascular diseases in the family history
